It's All About the Animals: My Passion for Pet Portraits
I enjoy painting and drawing a variety of subjects, all of which celebrate the beauty of God's creation through my art. However, Pet Portraits remain one of my absolute favorites. It is all about capturing the love and personality of our treasured pets. My love of animals has been the driving force in this aspect of my art.
Pets hold a special place in our hearts. They are more than just animals; they are beloved members of our families, each with their own unique personality and charm. As an artist, I've found immense joy and fulfillment in translating these special bonds into visual art through pet portraits, capturing their lives and personality.
Here are some of the reasons I'm passionate about creating these heartfelt keepsakes:
The Legend of the Dogwood
As an artist, I find inspiration everywhere, with nature being a significant source. However, it is truly the beauty within God's creations that inspires me the most.
Have you ever heard the legend of the Dogwood Tree? This legend is a story that resonated with me from the moment I heard it. It became a wellspring of creative inspiration for my painting. In this blog post, I am thrilled to share how this enduring legend ignited the artistic process behind this beautiful piece.
How to Preserve Dried Flowers in Resin
I LOVE flowers! I love looking at them, I love painting them, and I love receiving them most of all!! People give flowers for all kinds of reasons, or no reason at all other than to brighten someone's day. I always say getting flowers for no reason at all is the absolute best, but to be honest…I love getting them no matter the reason! The biggest problem (or only problem in my opinion) with fresh flowers is that they will eventually wilt. Well, if you are like me and want to preserve flowers from special occasions (or just because they are beautiful) this solution is for you, and this is how it all came about….
My Christmas Candy Recipes - as promised
Every Christmas season I make a variety of sweets that I give to friends and family. SO FAIR WARNING…. reading this might cause BORBORYGMUS (stomach grumbles!). Some of these delectable goodies include homemade caramel, turtles (made with the previously mentioned caramel), western pecan pralines, and autumn brittle. And as promised, I am going to share with you some of these recipes and give you the low down on the baking scene in my kitchen this time of year.
7 of my Favorite things about Christmas
Before I start this spiel, I’m gonna tell you… I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! I mean really LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Christmas. Ok, that sounds a bit crazy, let’s just say, I love Christmas…but not in a weird way, like ugly sweaters and glitzy Santa jewelry every day (let’s be honest, those are only reserved for the best Holiday parties!) Knowing how much I love this holiday; you can understand that narrowing down my 7 favorite things is a bit daunting. But I will buckle down and give you my favorites list along with a little explanation why they are so special to me.
The “Color Pop Series”
I recently released the “Color Pop Series”. Each painting is a different flower surrounded by a different color. These paintings can be placed individually or all together on one wall to complete a rainbow of color and flowers. And this is how I came up with the idea.
Turkey Day Antics by My Favorite Turkeys.
Firefighters, just like brothers, love to pull pranks and gags on one another. They can come in all shapes and sizes, the firefighters and the pranks!
My Weekend and Lucky Streak in Vegas- Part II
As if that wasn’t enough fun and excitement for one trip, I darn near failed to share the luckiest aspect of this trip, the whole reason for sharing this experience, the CASINOS! (This blog is continued from Part I…so if you want to know what all the fun and excitement I am talking about, click here to check it out!) Allow me to reel you back into all the feels of Vegas. Snap your fingers in that jazzy way once more to the beat of “Luck be a lady tonight” the ole blue eyes version. Frankly, it's the best (pun intended).
My Weekend and Lucky Streak in Vegas - Part I

FDNY Black Sunday Never Forget
Black Sunday has been used to describe January 23, 2005, when four firefighters of the New York City Fire Department died in two fires. I was commissioned by one of the survivors to do a memorial drawing that he had always envisioned.
